I love design. I always have done.
Whether it's meandering around art galleries (which I can do for hours), reading interior design magazines, coming across a well designed website/blog, amazing illustrations or photography, I am always intrigued. I think it's because I like pretty things, as most girls do.
I studied art and design up until the age of 18 and I also have a Blue Peter badge, thanks to my creativity as a child -- something I'm particularly proud of ;) (this will only make sense to British readers of my age).
After leaving school at 18, I went on to study Marketing at university and subsequently, turned this into my career, which has continued to develop my love of creativity.
This September, I will be adding a new string to my creative bow, when I embark on a Graphic Design course. I am extremely excited about taking my career in a new and more creative direction.
Anyway, enough waffle from me for one day! Since my decision to take the Graphic Design course, I have become even more observant of (read: obsessed with!) design and I will be using this as my platform for documenting my favourite finds :)
I absolutely LOVE this illustration by French illustrator Ugo Gattoni. I have been staring at these images for ages and it is so in keeping with the Olympic buzz that is currently all around, here in the UK...

Did you spot all the famous London landmarks?
I can only dream of producing work like this one day! What an inspiration.

Good for you! The course sounds fun and exciting. -Heidi http://fabricandfrosting.blogspot.no/
So much for the eyes to see! Thanks so much for sharing this with us. I hadn't come across his work before. And that's just awesome that you are taking that class.
I've always been a very creative person as well. When I was a teenager I used to illustrate, won state level art awards, and I wanted to be a fashion illustrator as a career but decided, with much pressure from my father, to go the business route of fashion instead so I could actually earn a living. I don't regret that choice but illustrating has forever been a passion of mine that I have little time for these days. I'm planning on carving out time for it in the near future though.
I'd also love to take some courses...maybe a photography course and graphic design one. Let's see if I'm able to balance it all but I think it would be so enriching if I can make it happen :)
xoxo
Oh my gosh these are just stunning...I mean it is truly a feast for the eyes!
Fabulous Sam! I work in marketing too but blogging has definitely brought out a more creative streak! I'd love to do a graphic design course! Can't wait to follow along with you :) xo
Amazing work...I would also lie to create something like this someday...but I dont know anything about graphic design, so that's highly unlikely! lol.
Cheers,
Victoria
